Building a brighter future for all South Dakotans.

I’m Kadyn Wittman, and I’m proud to represent District 15 in the South Dakota House of Representatives.

Over the past two terms, I’ve focused on delivering real results. This year, I helped pass House Bill 1082, expanding access to free and reduced school meals for more than 10,000 kids and families across our state.

I serve as Chair of the State’s Corrections Commission and on the Governor’s Correctional Rehabilitation Task Force, working to advance meaningful, data-driven criminal justice reform that strengthens public safety and improves outcomes.

From expanding school meal access to ending child marriage, improving our parole system, and supporting those experiencing homelessness, my work has always been about one thing: making government work better for people.

Now, I’m running for re-election to keep building on that progress and continue fighting for a brighter future for all South Dakotans.

My legislative priorities:

  • Address childhood food insecurity in public schools, eliminate stigma, and ensure equal access to nutrition for the academic and personal well-being of all South Dakota students.

  • Advocate for the well-being of South Dakota's unhoused population through increased resources, equitable access to vital documents, fostering collaboration, and implementing sustainable initiatives.

  • Promote comprehensive criminal justice reform in South Dakota by prioritizing rehabilitation over punitive measures, implementing evidence-based practices, and fostering collaboration with public institutions and decision-makers.
